Your challenge is to use Internet of Things technology to devise novel solutions for Industry 4.0. This is an open-ended challenge, so you are free to think creatively and outside-the-box. The only other requirement is that your project must be related to the Internet of Things in some way. Bonus points for creativity, unconventional solutions, and use of donated technology. What will continue to drive Industry 4.0 forward? What aspects of manufacturing and industry can be improved?

Industry 4.0, also known as the “fourth Industrial Revolution,” is poised to change manufacturing and other industrial processes as we move forward in the 21st century. Although M2M and other connected technologies have been in use for decades, the recent years have seen a new wave of innovation in these areas. Everything in the factory is becoming a potential source of valuable data that can be used to improve the product, manufacturing efficiency, and worker conditions. Potential uses for Industry 4.0 technology are hyper-customization of manufactured products, improving factory safety and other conditions, monitoring condition of machinery and other equipment, tracking worker efficiency, and improving supply chain operations.
